Cholesterol Direct, HDL

Overview of Test

High-density lipoprotein (HDL) is the smallest and densest of the lipoprotein particles that carry cholesterol in blood. HDL is considered to be beneficial, as it’s primary function is to transport excess cholesterol to liver for disposal. Higher blood levels of HDL cholesterol are normally associated with lower risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
