CRP: High Sensitivity

Overview of Test

CRP is an acute phase reactant produced by the liver, that often indicates inflammation and myocardial infarction. Recent epidemiological studies have shown that traditional CRP levels (>3mg/L) may not be sensitive enough, and CRP levels of >1mg/L can have increased risk for vascular disease. As such, CRP- High Sensitivity has lower detection limits than traditional CRP analysis.
